Frond Ratings

Starting Conversations About Clean Living

Stallholders and businesses at Malak Marketplace can claim a Frond Rating (from 0 to 5). This Frond Rating system was developed by market sponsor Clean Living in the Tropics to provide a straightforward line of communication between consumer and producers about their approaches to clean living.

The Clean Living Frond Rating is a way of making clean living, sustainable, environmentally friendly and/or organic approaches taken by businesses and individuals apparent to consumers. Frond Ratings are displayed in Clean Living in the Tropics’ publications (website, social media and ebooks) as a way of assisting communication and facilitating communication about clean living.

Frond Certificates at Malak Marketplace

The stallholders at Malak Marketplace display a Clean Living Frond Rating certificate to indicate what approach they take to clean living, sustainable, environmentally friendly and organic practices. These certificates are intended to encourage and initiate conversation between consumers and businesses/traders so an open, honest dialogue about clean living takes place.

Claiming a Frond Rating

Businesses claiming a Frond Rating self-assess their clean living practices helped by members of the Malak Marketplace Committee and Clean Living in the Tropics. Once a Frond Rating is claimed, it is up to the business owner to verify their assessment. It is also up to consumers to query what they do that qualifies them as ‘clean living’ businesses.

Please contact Clean Living in the Tropics for more information on the Frond Rating system and how to claim one for your business.
