Meet our New Stallholders
17 April 2017
The team behind the award-winning community market, Malak Marketplace met its new stallholders at an informal dinner presentation last week, and the energy in the room was palpable.

“We are thrilled to welcome eleven new stalls to the market at the start of the 2017 Dry Season and of course to welcome back our older, more experienced hands who create the heart of the market,” says Lina Paselli, General Manager of Malak Marketplace. “We can already feel the buzz and our very special market vibe being created. Once again, Malak Marketplace will be the platform for a clean living culture that’s becoming more mainstream as people make more mindful and better choices about food, health and lifestyle.
“We have a great season ahead of us. We are once again fizzy-drink free, our stalls must use recyclable or biodegradable trays, or crockery and cutlery to reduce the market’s packaging waste and we support and encourage sustainable and/or organic practices. And this year, each stall will display a notice explaining to market-goers how far it goes in this direction.”
Each market offers a huge choice of quality food, fresh farmers produce, health and lifestyle products, arts, crafts and entertainment. There are plenty of tables and chairs for easy dining and easy relaxing; and this year’s market evenings include: a new happy hour (between 4-5pm special kids’ sized plates and prices), weekly yoga, new monthly market tours and cooking classes, art exhibitions showcasing local artists and community education events for family.
Malak Marketplace 2017 opens Saturday 29th April (4-9pm) in Chambers Crescent Carpark and runs for 27 Saturdays between 4 and 9pm until Saturday 28th October.
